About the band

Well, where do I begin…

As a music lover, I not only rocked/banged my head/danced/disappeared in music but allowed it to be a major part of my life. Through my late teens and 20s, I dabbled with my acoustic guitar. Camp Fire songs were my specialty. I could rock “Country Roads” by John Denver like John himself. I also rocked a slightly less popular camp fire song called “Throw RJ in the Fire”. It may make a comeback. Deep down, my aspirations were much bigger.

Then when kids came along, my guitar collected a lot of dust. Telling myself, “one of these days” I’ll get back into it. Well, time passed by.

When the concept of RNH came to me, I thought I’ll play great music and talk hockey. Then I realized I’m not allowed to play other people’s music on YouTube…almost the death of RNH. (Defining moment in my life). This might be my moment…I’ll do what I’ve wanted to do my entire life…start a band.

Whooo, what the…almost no experience playing in bands and a mediocre camp fire guitarist, I jumped in with both feet. Thank God there was water to cushion my jump. My music life was born/reborn. I started playing my guitar everyday. Then I started searching for band mates. Like always, RJ came through with flying colors. He introduced me to Kevin Morin, a very good guitar player and the patience of a saint. Im sure I wasn’t totally upfront on my lack of experience but Kevin jumped in immediately and bigger and better things were on the horizon. Now with a guitar player that could meet my over the top music desires and help me with my novice skills, I began writing songs. This was totally unexpected and not planned but songs started flowing immediately. I’d write the lyrics and usually play the basic harmony on my acoustic, then Kevin would take it from there. Together we pumped out song after song. We added Dan as a bass player who would later switch to drums as we cycled through a few bass players and a few drummers. Ultimately we landed with Bob as a bass player who is also a hockey player and hockey dad. Our team was born and fit like a glove. Fast forward a few years, we recorded our first album Hustle with 7 of the first songs I wrote, all about hockey.

Currently, the band is working on our second album and has roughly 17-18 original songs.

The name Lord Stanley’s Brother (LSB) came about from Kevin after several conversations about a name that fit. The band started around hockey but has since branched into several different directions. My song writing now comes from many different influences but the consistency of the music remains. We are a straight forward KICK @$$ rock band.

You can find our music on ALL MAJOR STREAMING PLATFORMS, as well as, on the YouTube channel, Facebook and the new LSB website.

Even though LSB is the house band for the show, we’ve had many great musical guests on the show. From Nina Degregorio, of the nationally touring Femmes of Rock, Stoney Curtis, the great guitar player and Black Hawks fan, of the Stoney Curtis Band and Count 77, Keith Robert War, from Twisted Sister, up and coming country star Claudia Hoyser and of course local Rochester guitar great Jon Beato of Northside Johnny, just to name a few.

This is the show where the HOCKEY ROCKS and the MUSIC SOCKS!
